WORLD CHILDREN'S DAY:Ministry of Women Affairs Set to Mark World Children Day in the State.

Press Briefing by the Hon Commissioner Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development Mrs Wunfe B Anthony in preparation for the celebration of International Children's Day in Adamawa State. 

Children's Day is an annual event celebrated on the 27th of May every year in Nigeria since 1963.

The theme for this year's celebration is "Enhancing the Total Wellbeing of the Nigerian Child through Quality Education and Skills Development ".

The Ministry's line up activities in commemoration of children's Day are as follows;

1 Thursday 23rd May 2024 Press Briefing 

2 Friday 24th May 2024  Visit to Specialist Hospital Yola by the Wife of the Governor, Her Excellency Hajiya Lami Umaru Fintiri to give some assistance to in -patient children in the hospital. 

3 Friday 24th May (same day) final rehearsal by school children at Mahmoud Ribadu Square. 

4 Friday 24th May, prayers st the Mosques. 

5 Sunday 26th May 2024 prayers in the  churches.

6 Monday 27th May 2024, from 7am Match pass and salute by the school childre, at Ribadu Square. 

7 Monday same day , interactive session between the children's representatives and Her Excellency Hajiya Lami Umaru Fintiri, followed by children's party at Government House Banquet Hall. 

8  Tuesday 28th May 2024 official inauguration of the state Child Protection Law implementation Committee, followed by training of the Committee members by the Ministry in collaboration with RoLAC.

Finally, she expressed her gratitude to the Executive Governor Umaru Ahmadu Fintiri for his support snd encouraging children of the state to joint their counterparts in the federation in celebrating their day.
